Welcome to Charleston Church Tours!

Charleston is called the Holy City for the number of churches that dot her skyline and many consider it the birthplace of religious freedom. These congregations have experienced the triumph and tragedy that is Charleston's history.
Join us as we explore Charleston's past and six of her most historic houses of worship. Churches included on the tour are:
  • Circular Congregational Church*
  • St. Philips Church
  • Huguenot Church
  • First Baptist Church
  • First (Scots) Presbyterian Church*
  • St Michaels Church
  • *exclusive to Charleston Church Tours

The tour includes all six church exteriors and histories as well as a few interior glimpses. We usually enter four churches per tour, although five is not uncommon. The church interiors we visit depend on the time of year and what each congregation has planned for any given day.

The Meeting Street Inn Our tour begins at 10:30am Monday through Friday. We meet in the lobby of The Meeting Street Inn located at 173Meeting Street, just a 1/2 block South of Market Street. The tour lasts approximatley 2 1/2 hours, but we walk just under a mile in that time. We suggest wearing comfortable shoes and bringing a bottle of water, especially in warm weather. Photography (interior and exterior) is permitted.

Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 843-367-9690 or sending us an email. We look forward to seeing you on tour!
